Bozich Consulting in the News
Wynn’s Information Highway
Global Gaming Business Journal, January 2004
Karen Bozich is reluctant to divulge all the ins-and-outs of the information technology system being built into Wynn Las Vegas; she wants it to be a surprise. She is so proud of it, though, that she can’t help revealing a little.
“What I can say,” says Bozich, “is that certainly building from the ground up affords us to build the technology into the building. The last time we opened a property was the Beau Rivage in 1999. Technology changes so much that suddenly we we’re able to produce great technology that weren’t able to produce in the past.”
Excluding a brief stintwith the Viejas Casino, Bozich has been working for Steve Wynn (the founder of Mirage Resorts Inc. who is currently developing Wynn Las Vegas and a resort in Macau, China) for almost 15 years. She opened three resorts for his company-Treasure Island and Bellagio in Las Vegas and Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Miss.-before it was acquired by MGM Grand. She left to serve as chief information officer of the Viejas Casino outside of San Diego, and Mirage Resorts was subsequently acquired by MGM Grand.
Bozich is glad to be back. “I decided to jump back in with both feet,” she says. “What has always attracted me is the nature of all the projects that Steve Wynn builds. They’re extraordinary.”
